Even if he did decide he was tired of the English company, why should that concern you so much? I have been around some British. I know one guy who comes off as really snobby and arrogant. You have to really stand up to him to take his company for long. He will disdainfully mock you out and you have to know how to handle it. Some people just aren't used to it and can't take it for too long.
