When the Pressure's Off, Unexpectedly

Jan 21, 2009

By Patrick R. Veillette, Ph.D.

"Even though we practice the "high dive" in reaction to a sudden loss of pressurization every six months in the simulator, I've wondered about the value of that training. After all, just how often does this malfunction happen in the real world? Well, a little research turned up the answer.

A review of 390 accidents involving business jets from 1991 through 2007, along with 811 incidents from the FAA's incident database, revealed that pressurization problems were the fifth most common mechanical failure. The incident database contained 41 reports of malfunctions with the pressurization system, of which 24 resulted in emergency descents. And it took just a few quick moments to find an additional 68 "rapid decompression" events in NASA's Aviation Safety Reporting System (ASRS) records involving business jets, along with so many more related incidents described as "loss of cabin pressurization" there was no point in continuing the count."

For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

Micrometeorites, didnt you read the thread and look at the pictures?

Its popping those planes like baloons! Just a tiny bullet at those speeds (due to higher frequency of meteors ahead of Planet X), larger pieces are making it through and popping the planes. The pressure difference does all the work, they can be very small, but the fact that so many are making it through is ASTOUNDING! PX IS NEAR! THIS DEBRIS IS JUST AHEAD OF IT, EJECTED DUE TO PRIOR IMPACTS WITH MOONS, ASTEROIDS, AND COULD EVEN BE THE BEGINNING OF THE DUST CLOUD EXPECTED FROM THE RED "SUN"!
