But you keep believing yourself. Go get a job as a "jumper" for TEPCO. They are paying $5,000/hr ....since there is no danger. ..Sheesh.......the level of ignorance just keeps getting worse year after year! A nuclear reactor is a slow motion nuclear explosion huh..... (And this pinwheel actually has the balls to be calling somebody else a "fucking idiot") So, did this "slow motion" nuclear explosion kick up fallout into the atmosphere, that floated over to the mid west? Hit the west coast? But it is "new" and "different" fallout, because my geiger counter still reads the same? [/quoTE bECAUSE THE GEIGER COUNTER YOU HAVE ACCESS TO DOESNT PICK UP CESIUM 137. In addition, the sun is becoming more radioactive and the ozone layer is very thin, plus the depleted uranium now used in Libya. And of course, I forgot the Japanese big time cockup. I mean... Who needs a brown dwarf? Adds insult to injury, aint it! mclinking How can any of us decide?? Are you shitting me?? Seriously, the facts are there, you can "Pretend" that everything is A-OK and go about life as normal, or, you can take some simple precautions and at least give your family a fighting chance. I have not drank, nor has my family drank, tap water since a few days after this happened. Yes, now it is going to get tougher and tougher to know if the bottled water is even safe. I have noticed a 2 dollar a case jump in bottled water here in Montana. Also, I do not let my kids outside when it is raining anymore, I know that is not much, but it is at least something. This is so large, that there is no REAL escape from it, you can only limit your exposure and get checked for cancer more frequently from now on. We are also taking Potassium Iodide pills every day. Again, not much, but it is a little bit and every little bit counts right now, and most likely will for the rest of our lives as this whole thing continues and actually gets worse. Curious here. Which guidelines are you using for KI which are difficult to nail down. Some come on as "experts" who haven't a clue about dosing and just avoid the question before fading away. Now I heard the dose is one 32.2 every 3 days. In addition, the body needs time to process and offtime to not knock out recovering function of this complex hormone producing organ. You have to be sane about different age groups in your family as some may end up with non-functioning thyroids from excess longterm dosing. I've been concerned about this for some time now and still no reasonable answers. Take it easy. How long can you keep taking potassium iodide? I'm taking sea kelp, seems less intrusive, but we're all winging it here. I would think that potassium iodide would only be effective for short term use, such as being in the proximity of a nuclear bomb explosion. In the case of Fukushima it is a continuous, long term release of every kind of nuclear waste product. And only one, cesium, concentrates in the thyroid. But all of it continues to catch the wind and move across the northern hemisphere, creating constant potential for uptake on the ground. I don't know that it is advised to take potassium iodide for that length of time. And it is only protecting one part of your body. My idea is to find a monitor that I can use to at least test the food and water I'm eating and drinking and to check my shoes when I come in. Otherwise you can't worry about it; you have to go on living and putting your trust in your higher source. Because the outcome of this is not in our hands. Anyone know of a radiation/radioactivity monitor that could be used to test food? |
