BROWN DWARF OR COMET? SOUTHPOLE LIVECAM SHOWING SUN LIKE OBJECT PLANET X ??? | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 542383 United States 04/29/2011 02:37 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | In that picture you attached, note that there is a round source of light coming from one of the windows on the lower floor of the building. The light overlaps the boundary of the window. That is another example of an overexposure effect. If a room light can be overexposed, why not the Moon? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 973304You can still clearly see the shape of the window as a window. There is no 60% moon in the attached picture and a moon at 60% illumination should have a decreased luminosity. :south pole 4-24-: The light coming from the seventh window from the right on the lower floor has an obvious circular shape on the top that hides the actual shape of the window. That's an overexposure effect, just like the Moon in the same picture. Agreed. Still the moon. |

Quoting: emerald eyeYou label me "dogmatic" because I come to a conclusion based on evidence you think is insufficient? Interesting. The original post also read: “I want more screenshots and clarification.” "To me it doesn’t look right for the moon at that phase (60%)" "Unfortunately with the apparent blizzard conditions, so far, obtaining further screenshots not been possible." "I will withhold my final judgment until more screenshots can be analyzed." The fact that you cut my post down in the quote to eliminate the portion that didn’t fit your accusation tells me all that I need to know about you. The reason that you are dogmatic is that you have drawn a conclusion based upon your theory about the camera without wishing for any additional evidence or support for that conclusion, thereby closing your mind to any possibly that your foregone conclusion might be incorrect. I have an open mind, and have not yet reached a final conclusion, only a suspicion based upon what my own eyes saw on the web cam and the phase of the moon for the date 4-24-11 that does not seem to match up. Is that really so awful, or must everyone immediately and unconditionally accept your analysis without any further information? To expect that seems really dogmatic and arrogant. I said I looked forward to any evidence you would eventually present. How you decided that meant that I didn't want you to continue looking into the matter baffles me. You don't need my permission, but please, continue searching for evidence and answers. I think it says something about your own thought processes that you label me dogmatic because I think the evidence presented so far is sufficient to identify the light as just the (overexposed) Moon. |
