The fact that you cut my post down in the quote to eliminate the portion that didn’t fit your accusation tells me all that I need to know about you.


The reason that you are dogmatic is that you have drawn a conclusion based upon your theory about the camera without wishing for any additional evidence or support for that conclusion, thereby closing your mind to any possibly that your foregone conclusion might be incorrect.

I have an open mind, and have not yet reached a final conclusion, only a suspicion based upon what my own eyes saw on the web cam and the phase of the moon for the date 4-24-11 that does not seem to match up.

Is that really so awful, or must everyone immediately and unconditionally accept your analysis without any further information? To expect that seems really dogmatic and arrogant.

Gee whiz. I said I looked forward to any evidence you would eventually present. How you decided that meant that I didn't want you to continue looking into the matter baffles me. You don't need my permission, but please, continue searching for evidence and answers.
I think it says something about your own thought processes that you label me dogmatic because I think the evidence presented so far is sufficient to identify the light as just the (overexposed) Moon.

Here you go, a recent picture of the Moon from May 1st. But wait a minute, the Moon is very close to the Sun. It should only be showing a small sliver as the New Moon is May 3rd. Not what you see in the photo is it?

Details:
This is beautiful sight before dawn, with 4 visible planets aligned in the east. Venus and Mercury have been visible for a couple of weeks, but now Mars and Jupiter have entered the scene. The crescent Moon also joined the planets this morning May 1st. Images taken with a Canon 450 D, mainly ISO 400, 10 sec exp, and focal lengths.
