Re: Why is there no moon in the sky tonight??
I just love when people are so witty about things they have no clue about. Someone asks a legitimate question and gets answers like the first in this thread, "are you serious dumb Fuck". Obviously that reply was a brainless twit who thinks the sun rises and sets just for them . News flash, your the idiot, the moon is NOT were it should be according to google sky, the moon is NOT visible when it should be on such clear nights. So pull your head out of your face and don't post if all you have to say is "are you serious"

so to answer the nice man's question , no one really knows were the moon is except NASA and they definitly are not going to tell us.

probability one: the projection machine is malfunctioning or broken (NO that's NOT a joke, your mind is just to small to grasp the fact that rocket scientists have deceived you and your stupid ignorant family your whole lifes

probability 2: the sun is so far away it is only seen by half of the night side part of the earth. this is another scary explanation as it supports the theory of massive cosmic change.

probability 3: as we pass threw the galactic plane, unexplainable phenomenon will acure.

all these are healthy ideas but like I said, no one really knows except NASA, and they are to busy tricking morons like the first replier of this post

we are living in strange times, unpredictable times, disturbing times. the only chance this earthly civilization has is to WAKE UP and unite in the belief of things greater than us happening that we can not change.

human kind will always remain blind as long as ignorant people (like the first replier to this post) still hold clout in this world.

Re: Why is there no moon in the sky tonight??
Its clear as a bell here in Southern BC and pitch black. No sign of the moon. I live away from the city and its Pitch Black out here on my mountain top. Actually I was asking myself last night where the moon was cause it was so black outside.

I know the moon comes up later and later and I was going to go look for it around 11pm last night just to see if it was there. Will do it tonight. It has to be up around that time otherwise somthings not right. It should be higher this time of year also.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 19653424

The Moon didn't rise until about 4:30 AM just like it was supposed to. It is approaching New Moon on the 13th which generally rises about 6 am and sets about 6 pm. Height of the Moon is not determined the time of year. The Moon's orbit takes it furthest North and furthest South each Month so it is at its highest once a month but in a different phase each time.

That's not what NASA says, nor is that the facts from google sky. The moons height is most definitely contingent by the time of night, and it should of been visible by 11pm. Furthermore, your presumption that it rises at 6am was proved wrong at exactly 6am when it did not rise, nor is it visible throughout the day.

Why are people so intent on refusing to believe that things are happening that are beyond our understanding?

please don't post nonsense if you have no idea what your talking about

new Moon is on the 13th
[link to www.timeanddate.com]
moon rise at about 4:30 am (individual results may vary based on location within your time zone and latitude)
[link to www.timeanddate.com]

By the way, I didn't say it would rise at 6 am, I said it should rise at about 4:30 am. The New Moon which IS coming on the 13th (two weeks ago was FULL Moon) does indeed rise about 6 am, give or take depending on time of year and observer's location.

The Moon most certainly is visible during the day but is much harder to see as it is a small waning crescent phase right now and close to the Sun. You would need to know exactly where to look, shield your view from the sun, and a telescope could help.
I never said the Moon's height was not contingent on the time of night. I said it was not on the time of YEAR. Please learn to read.

First you say 6, then you say 4, then you say 6 again. First you say it is not visible on the tenth, then you say it's not visible on the 13th, writing consistency not your strength? Your explanation has more holes than an afgan. You might want to rethink your idea as being fact and accept that you have no factual basis behind your "proof". I do feel sorry for people who are as misled as you, astro-physicist at my college admit strange phenomenon with the moon but I should report to them that an i-net junkie has it all figured out .

First you say 6,
 Quoting: jeffghazaleh 1538356

For the New Moon which is on the 13th (although this one comes a little later due to the tilt of the orbit). I NEVER said for today's phase.

then you say 4,
 Quoting: jeffghazaleh 1538356

4:30 actually and yes that is correct

then you say 6 again.
 Quoting: jeffghazaleh 1538356

Again for the New Moon and that is on the 13th. I have never said otherwise.
First you say it is not visible on the tenth,
 Quoting: jeffghazaleh 1538356

I NEVER said anything about the tenth.

then you say it's not visible on the 13th,
 Quoting: jeffghazaleh 1538356

I actually never said it wouldn't be visible on the 13th. As it is a new Moon it won't be but I never said that before now.

writing consistency not your strength?
 Quoting: jeffghazaleh 1538356

I have been consistent despite your attempts to misrepresent what I've said.

Full moon to new moon is 2 weeks.

New moon to Full moon is 2 weeks

Full moons rise in the East at sundown.

The last crescents of the waning moon rise just before sunrise.

Then the new moon first crescent is visible just before sunset.

Nov 12th, tomorrow, will be the last crescent--only well visible in the eastern sky just before sunrise.

Next new moon is Nov 13th. It's first crescent will be visible at sundown in the western sky the next night, but will set in the west within an hour.

You really don't understand do you? 31 days in a month (some of them anyway). 29 days (and a few hours) from one full moon to the next. If a month has a full moon in the first few days of the month then it can easily have the next in the same month. Who said anything about 15? Or subtracting those numbers? The last full Moon was on the 29th of October, the next is not until the 28th of November.

Sometimes Moon disappears. R. Zera, in the name of R. Nachaman gave the minimum period of invisibility of the moon as 24 hours. Babylonian Talmud - Rosh Hashanah 20B R. Zera said in the name of R. Nahman: The moon is invisible for twenty-four hours [round about new moon]. For us [in Babylon]
six of these belong to the old moon and eighteen to the new; for them [in Palestine] six to the new and eighteen to the old. What is the practical value of this remark? R. Ashi
said: To confute the witnesses.
Maimonides gives the period of invisibility of the moon as about 2 days.(See Maimonides, Hilchoth Kiddush Hachodesh 2.6)
Even NASA with any infrared telescope can't see Moon now.
You can ask NASA to show Earth sphere in real time, they will say we can't, some satellite broke. If you ask them second time, they will say: don't disturb us, we have business to do.
