This is the world's only real-time position poll reflecting market positioning in G10, Emerging Markets and metals by client type. Previously investors were held to the CME's Commitment of Traders report which distributed IMM position as of the prior Tuesday. Not only is the CME’s information old and largely irrelevant by the time it is reported on Fridays, it is also representative of a tiny fraction of the FX market. daisey User ID: 987808 United States 04/24/2011 08:32 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My neighbor finally asked me about buying silver. I had told him it hit $45 on wednesday, so he comes over Saturday wanting to go to the coin shop. Told him we would have to wait till Monday morning and that it was already over over $46. Hope it is still under $50 by time they open tomorrow. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1079553Ya might wait and see, lol... Last time silver touched $50 it was down $21 the next day.... And from what I hear the hype was the same as it is now...everyone was buyin' at the top... the only thing different the U.S. Dollar is on the verge of potentially being replaced as the world reserve currency by a gold backed currency for the first time in history. if this happens you'll see both gold and silver double overnight. because they will both become relevant for the time in a long time once again. The Government is unable to print silver and gold everyday. "On Christ the solid Rock I stand! All other ground is sinking sand!" |

I got in because I think that the US dollar and then the Euro are going to collaspe and the worth of those fiat currencies will be nil. At that point silver and gold will come to their true value. A value that wont be measured in dollars or euros but in intrinsic worth. I do think the run up in silver is about over and it will come back down again, and at that point I will start buying again and not stop regardless of the runup. The rise in the price of gold and silver is inversly proportional to the devaluation of the dollar. CUIUS TESTICULOUS HABES HABEAS CARDIA ET CEREBELLUM |

The rise in the price of gold and silver is inversly proportional to the devaluation of the dollar. Not yet it's not. Silver has increased by 100% in the last 6 months. Far greater than the inverse of the $. Silver is adjusting to its unmanipulated currency exchange rate and ratio to gold. Silver actually has a ways to go before it will only be relative to the devaluation of the Dollar. |

"copper is 4.38/oz...weigh them up!hfbut it's alloy now?" ^ made a typo. It's actually about that price per pound. However, people are getting ripped off and paying $4.00 per 1 ounce round. If I am wrong about this, someone please correct me. You might want to save the old copper pennies. Their value is dynamic and will change with the times, but they are still worth more than their paper counterparts per dollar. |

Big deal 300% ?? 50-150.... it has already moved from $4 to almost $48...1,200+% Now that we are in full-blown hype mode it is time to sell...not worth the risk... Silver can be mined very quickly...the miners have been way underperforming which is a sign of an emminent top...they probably have made deals to supply the stuff at levels lower than these... You are correct there hasn't been much mining as it wasn't that profitable as gold, but silver sources are not as plentiful as before, so basically with this demand, supply is about to run out. Unless some new silver reserve is found. Current silver mines don't have much left. |
