Valero, Marathon, BP Refineries Lose Power in Texas City
This is suspicous as these plants are 30+ miles apart.

Valero Energy Corp. (VLO), Marathon Oil Corp. (MRO) and BP Plc suffered power outages at their Texas City refineries in Texas, according to Bruce Clawson, director of Texas City Emergency Management.

Oil has been poisoned when BP put the nano-organism in the Gulf to eat the hydrocarbons (gas and oil).

This incident sounds like another flareup (splashzone) erupting.

At OP's link:

"Clawson said a shelter-in-place was issued. Such a declaration is made when hazardous materials may have been released into the atmosphere, according to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Shelter-in-place means selecting a small, interior room, with no or few windows, and taking refuge there, according to the agency website. "

Well we are all dependent on our elect plants here - and today its going to be pulling 100 degrees , should be interesting, since we depend on all these plants to fuel the elect industry. I would not be surprised if today we had more brown outs, but hearing that the major players in the power industry had outages, what does that mean for the rest of us?

No need for new refineries. In less than 3 years, this Gulf morphing organism, which breaks down human DNA, will have so saturated the Gulf hydrocarbons, that only extremely expensive and closed-unit refineries will be able to filter out the bug.

Other countries refineries will also become infected since the organism has escaped the Gulf and is in the world's oceans.

Perhaps Japan's oceans will remain free of the morphing disaster since the radioactive water being dumped into the ocean will probably kill the bug in their waters.

there are LIGHTS in and all around the Refineries.

Pictures from citizens' camera phones at 5 am show this, too.

Most of these refineries use 480 volts
, and those
specific powerlines and onsite Transformers are intact.

Power outages at plants in Texas City overnight led to shelter-in-place emergency alerts and the cancellation of public schools in Texas City.

Most of the plants, including Valero, have restored power by 8 a.m., but they were not yet back on line.

Thirteen people went on their own to nearby hospitals. Bruce Clawson, Texas City Homeland Security coordinator, said no plant injuries have been reported.

Clawson said officials think they know what caused the outages but he declined to elaborate.

He said plant officials said no emissions have been released.

A power outage at Valero in Texas City forced officials to order a shelter-in-place for residents early this morning hours after a previous shelter-in-place order was lifted because of a power failure at BP late last night.

A shelter-in-place order was issued about 5:30 a.m. Monday after power was lost at Valero, said Clawson. It came about two hours after a similar order had been rescinded following a power failure at BP about 10:55 p.m. Monday.

A Marathon facility had a power failure in Texas City as well. Spokesman Robert Calmus said units at the refinery were shut down, and that equipment is being restarted this morning. No injuries were reported at the plant, and no emissions were recorded.

Texas City’s Clawson said he is uncertain what caused the power failure at Marathon.

The Galveston Daily News reported today on early speculation on the cause of the outages:

“There is some indication because of drought and windy conditions in the county that a build up of salt on power line insulators may be to blame for the power outages. Area refineries and chemical plants experienced power “blips” last week several times, officials said.”

Classes were called off in the Texas City Independent School District on a day when TAKS standardized tests had been scheduled for some students. The start of classes in nearby La Marque was delayed until 10 a.m.

The outage at the BP refinery and chemical plant required emergency shut downs at all units, said Daren Beaudo, a BP spokesman. Flaring occurred at the plant while the shut took place.

A small fire broke out on pipestill 3B shortly after the outage. BP’s Fire Department responded and quickly extinguished it.

No injuries were reported, Beaudo said.

Crews are monitoring the area around the refinery for possible emissions, Beaudo said. He did not release details of the results.

They have an on site power generation plant. These are gas turbines run by Calpine Energy. They use the utility (Texas New Mexico Power) as the backup. I believe they had a switchgear failure. I will know more later....

BTW, no explosions or anything. The flairing is normal emergency procedure to keep any pressures from exceeding equipment capacities and causing real problems. Terrorist attack? You gotta be kidding.

None...if it's liquid form at ambient temp, it goes into one of the many storage vessels. The gasses are the problem when the pumps are down. The pressures build and all the -tanes are extremely light and flamable.

they do it ALL OF THE TIME. It's NORMAL.
You can see them from the end of the Texas City
Dyke or the Galveston Causeway.

Furthermore, these are THREE separate refineries with Valero,
Marathon, and BP. They DO NOT SHARE Electricity,
except for the backup from Texas New Mexico Power. And a
single switchgear would NOT cause ALL THREE Refineries to
fail simultaneously!

This is a fucking Cover Story
, most surely by the Feds.
Anyone who knows ANYTHING about these Refineries KNOWS this.

First I heard of this was at 1 AM; scrolling message across tv screen ---told people to shut windows and turn off A/C due to poisonous fumes. Most who have to get up early for work missed the alert and slept right thru, breathing the fumes. Probably not that different from the area's usual air anyway; those plants have pollutd the whole vicinity over the years.

News says 4 separate power outages necessitated burning off by products in huge flares, causing the poisonous gases. This does seem suspicious.
