Thanks for the look into the future NiNzrez. Many more cities and small towns will be joining you shortly.
Quoting: ResisterThank you for your thread OP...it is heartbreaking.
I am terribly afraid the above post may come true.
Lots of people are being made homeless and destitute everyday by the never-ending storms, floods & tornadoes. Everyday more destroyed towns and people left standing in the rubble with nothing, some just the clothes on their backs.
On TV ,they ALWAYS have someone in the destroyed area saying "we will start all over again." Really, someone tell me how elderly folks who have lost every worldly possession "start over? " I'd really like to know.
Most people do not have flood insurance, so when everything is gone, it's gone. There was a woman about 70 looking at her flooded home on tv tonight. What happens to all these people ? There aren't jobs for the young healthy males, where is an elderly sick person going to go ?
Other places are getting their property taxes raised so high 100% I heard in one case, that people are going to be taxed out of their homes (if they are blessed to have one) into homelessness.
What do you do if you are elderly and sick and end up homeless ?
Sorry for the little rant Op, things I was thinking watching all the devastation from the floods and tornados on the news tonight.
I keep thing about the movies "They Live" and "Children of Men," and all the homeless.
