There is a constant need for guides in the Galapagos Islands, The mountain tours, rainforest and volcano tours as well. There is an Californian breakfast place that serves as a meeting place for expats. Many of the expats don't speak English, and do just fine. Everything there is very cheap by comparison. Read up on it. You can rent a 4 bedroom home in a nice, gated area for $400 a month, or, you can buy the same for around 100k. If you are willing to not be in the 2 above cities, it is far cheaper. Some of the home sale ads have 'orchards' that have a list of fruit trees as long as my arm. I am moving to Cuenca with my children this summer. If you have any questions, let me know. If you get real hungry, there are tons of cattle too. There are no earthquakes or tornadoes or hurricanes, but mudslides and floods. I gotta run but I'll write more later. Wow sounds good bro ! Yeah, that was the bads times for the country but good for football fans. You must watch the documentary "The Two Escobars" or read the book "Killing Pablo" The food is cheap and decent but the culinary revolution hasn't hit here yet as you will find most of the same menu at most places. I prefer to buy the cheap ingredients then cook at home. The meat is priced so affordable. The cost of living here is cheap, you can live off of 1,000 USD month but you can live like a king with 3,000 usd month. That is as of now before the dollar shrinks up into nothing. The police have real crime to worry about so they don't harrass the citizens too much. There are road checkpoints where they check the car and sometimes pat you down. There are some tidbits of socialism like for utilities, you pay more or less depending what "Zone" you live in. I think that is fair. The politics are corrupt but they are only learning from the US. The Colombian peso was the strongest currency in the world against the USD like 15 times last year. The economy is booming and I'm trying to get a part of it. There are ferrari and maserati dealerships and tons of foriegn investment flooding in. They are constructing new roads and bridges all the time. It's a good place to be but you need to know spanish and get some connections with the people that have some knowledge on the system here. I feel that due to it's ties with the US, Colombia will be the headquarters for the NWO in South America, when I feel that approaching, I will move to a lesser developed country nearby. |
