Could not disagree with you MORE.....

The KJV of the bible is only one of many..

I am not a 'believer' but was raised catholic and could not wait to get out of that church!!!

but I digress..

If you truly believe the bible is God's word, then why would you want to read it in a translation that goes back hundreds of years...

No one in the bible days spoke like that!!!!!!!

they did not say 'thee' and 'thou', and so on!!!!!

Why not get off your asses and look into at LEAST familiarizing yourself with an interlinear version of the old and new testaments?

Now it's not as 'pretty' or easy to read, but at LEAST you'd get/have a better sense of what was actually being said..

No translation will ever come truly close to the language/s that were spoken then!!!!!

But I DO think that if you REALLY want to read God's word, you should go out and get yourselves an interlinear translation......all this means is that you have the original language, and right beneath it are the english words...

It's not as pretty and poetic as the KJV, but I have to think that if I was a devout christian, that that's the way I'd want to read the bible, or at least be familiar with, for example, how my favorite passages and parts of the bible would read in the original languages..

any thoughts?????

please don't rake me over the coals!!!!!!!
