True. They are fierce-looking and can certainly BE fierce. But having owned one, I know that they mostly want to sit on you, as in full-body snuggle. When I see a Rott that big I imagine myself being crushed under a slobbery, hairy mass of dog muscle, with my face being licked. At any rate, that is what my Rottie ownership experience was like. Rotties are full-contact dogs. Shepherds lie in the corner of the room guarding their flock. Rotties sit on their flock.
