I don't think any of their efforts in the media have been working. When I was a child in the 60s, I played in the ghetto, where I was the only white person most of the other kids had ever met. They were like kids and families everywhere. By the time I was in college, there was some segregation and suspicion, but it still wasn't bad.

I live in a mostly black neighborhood now. I get on fine with the men, although I would say, the older the better. Younger black people are a little more suspicious. It's the black women who don't even say hello. They look at me with undisguised hatred, and walk past without saying a word. It's a little creepy.
