Marriage is a covenant. the two become one flesh...even if you dont get the certifacate can it not be decreed marriage by common law? (look up common law marriages)

The problem is that its not just about you and her and god, you also like it or not have a responsibility to the community you live in. If shes your wife, people have a right to know. Shes spoken for, off the market, and particularly other men need to be aware. Secondly, marriage is a prophetic institution, by enacting it you exemplify Gods son's return for his bride.

Then there is the authority of ordination, if you are going to marry according to a faith, the rites ascribed are to be conducted according to that faith, then there is also the acclimation by consent of the community...If you were on a desert island, then you could make vows before god, but your not...and gods authority works to create order in a community...if you wish to hide from that authority, how can you vows be before god? or are you excommunicating yourself from that community?

One problem though...just because interdimensionally they have the ability to effect choice does not mean that they do...or that they even enact those variences outside of the will and nature of the chooser. I can assure you of this, Choice was left up to man, God could take it away in the manner you speak but does not except in rare circumstances to reflect the nature of that person to begin with.
