How do you find "C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc"? Open Windows explorer. In XP, click start, run and type explorer then his enter. Now click tools menu at the top and go to folder options. Under the view tab, change the setting to show hidden files and folders. That will allow you to see the hidden hosts file. Google the rest... [link to www.google.com] |

WITH THE SETUP I HAVE NOW, BY UPDATING TH HOSTS FILES AS NECCESSARY, I CAN BLOCK ANY AD AGENCY THAT SIMPLY WRITES NEW CODE TO GET PAST ADBLOCK. Yep, and I don't know why, but when I tried to download Adblock from the Firefox site a few weeks ago, for some reason, it said I couldn't do it. I haven't updated to the newer versions of Firefox, that could be it, but when it didn't let me download Adblock, I just figured screw it and went went with the hosts file But really, it's not like you have to update the hosts file every day....every few months would probably be good enough...if that often.
