Hi John
How do the Lockheed's handle compared to the Boeing's like when you did that trip from Bangkok to the Haj. I always wondered what the basic difference is to fly them. I think it's all fly by wire now so it might not be quite so diferent.
Thanks

Quoting: charlesfrith The L-1011 was the best of the best to fly mainly because of its autopilot which my father originally designed and which Lear-Sielger modfield for the L-1011. The original autopilot was the L-102B. the L-102C is the one that went into the L-1011. The Boeing was and is always the top of the line and my favorite except for the L-1011. But the only Boeings I got to fly were the 707, 720 and 727. Those 6 weeks of flying the Hadj from India back and forth, in the L-1011, to Jeddah was really a lot of fun and a great way to end my career.
