I remember years ago seeing photos on the news of the Mississippi flooding ... silos were under water. I guess this is going to be worst?? Sounds like lots of cities or towns are in danger.

Well there is basically no cloud coverage over the rest of the entire united states, which alone is semi-odd but the spot where there IS precipitation is concentrated ex_Act_ly_over that area that will cause this dam to flood. Not to mention, the radar shapes are looking totally fishy and weird with the rings and yes, the squares.. wow, our government wants us to hate them. that is their goal.

Re: <> BREAKING NEWS <> Mississippi River overflow about to destruct all the levees on Atchafalaya River barrier <> List of towns at ris
All towns west of Atchafalaya River as far as 29 miles* have the risk of flooding.

Morgan City & Simmesport: Flood Risk - 99%
Lafayette: Flood Risk - 92%

Breaux Bridge, Carencro, Opelousas, Port Barre, Broussard, St. Martinville,
New Iberia, Jeanerette, Franklin, Patterson, Morrow, Cottonport: Flood Risk - 83%

*Yes, 29 miles! The amount of water displacement is enormous:
Almost 1.91 greater than Australian floods and 0.92 greater than the Japan Tsunami!

Also at risk of flooding some towns near the mouth of Red River by backwards flow:

Alexandria: Risk 92% (Backwards flow)
Effie: Risk 83% (Backwards flow)

Marksville & Lecompte: Risk 74% (Backwards flow)

Of course, no need to mention that all the towns near Mississippi River are also at high risk
of severe flooding and sudden underground water collapse (sink-holes) specially:

New Madrid at Missouri
Memphis at Tennessee
Baton Rouge & New Orleans at Louisiana

for those who didnt click the link to other thread, that rectangle is a key spot. Find a topo map and then look at the radar map again. That white area is on a flood plain where the Missouri dumps into the Mississippi. If the rain wasnt dissipating like it seems to be there would already be problems.
I know nothing except that.

Re: <> BREAKING NEWS <> Mississippi River overflow about to destruct all the levees on Atchafalaya River barrier <> List of towns at ris
NO one can tell me this flooding and what happens afterward is a natural occurance.

I was looking at this map late last night, (interesting that it's right over the NM fault line 'eh?).

And now I come back to it, 12 hours later and the radar hasn't changed one bit. It's still focused in the same area.

There is no way this "storm" is just sitting on top of the New Madrid Fault, and not moving for over 12 hours.

It's concentrated right on it. THIS is NO act of God!!!

[link to www.intellicast.com]

THIS IS EVIL!!!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1317947

Thats what I am screaming. Storms that just "hover" in one spot for over 12 hours. I swear I seen a storm just as big as the tornado killer of last wed just the other day and it hovered over the area for about half a day then instead of going east it just vanished. WTF? When does weather not move from left to right?

Around 30 years ago there was a large billboard near the town of Krotz Springs, La. to the effect that a flood in that area could result in the Atchafalaya river cutting a new path to the gulf causing considerable damage along the way. Krotz Springs is right on the river. If anyone has brought this up already. Sorry. IN TIMES LIKE THESE: [link to 86.109.29.66]

Verb 1. Destruct
designed to be capable of destroying itself or the object, system, or installation containing it

But make sense:
Maybe Corps of Engineers designed the levees to be "destruct"

Lafayette, Louisiana for example is 21 miles of the next river line, it is nearly impossible to flood water reach 21 miles west, just impossible. Do your research.
