Although I am not a father yet, I would suggest you to fight your fears first and have a positive attitude. Try to pass that to your little as you help it getting older and wiser. You are already on the track, so try not to be victim of the fear-mongering people.

Live in the now. Worrying is only going cause you to miss the little things that are going to happen very quickly... and you'll regret it. You can be a proud poppa and be vigilant. Just take a breath and live. I would suggest gardening your own veggies. You can control their environment and ensure safe produce for you and yours. BTW, Congrats, being a dad is a big deal. Don't blink or they'll wind up teenagers right before your eyes... :( (I went from 2 tiny tots to mouthy opinionated teenagers in what seemed like a single month)
