3(1+2) =
3(1)+3(2) =
3+6 = 9

well, I hate to tell you this. That really isn't the correct way of doing it. I did it the dumb way just for the hell of it. I should have resolved the (1+2) first, then worked left to right.


Well, I KNEW that part. You can go back to my previous post and where I showed to do the parentheses first... I just couldn't remember whether to multiply or divide. :)
