Patrick Bateman User ID: 16007253 United States 05/28/2012 12:41 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I love this meme.. the '1ers' are so effective in their shilling. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 16244264 The answer is obviously 9 BEDMAS- Brackets, Exponents, Division/Multiplication, Addition/Subtraction Division and multiplication are done in the order of which they appear in the equation after each calculation. Ditto with Addition/subtraction. 6÷2(2+1) Step 1: Brackets 6÷2(3) Step 2: There are no exponents Step 3: Division/Multiplication Now, this is where the 1'ers have their fun. For some reason, they think 2*3 is the next calculation. Some of them will even say, "everything in the brackets", well, all that is left in the brackets is 3. I don't know how this is anything other than a meme, an intentional joke by many-a people. the next calculation, 6÷2, equals 3 3(3) Step 4: Division/Multiplication When a number is next to brackets, they are to be multiplied, after the operations inside the brackets are complete of course. 9! For some reason, the 1'ers perceive the equation as 6÷(2(2+1)) -- In which case, the 2*3 operation would be completed, as it IS within brackets. I don't understand the "1" joke. I can only understand cancer, and those who will get are the ones who believe the answer is "1". |

Parentheses first. You must be high to not get 9 and still act like you followed the rules. I will right it out one more time for ya. Of course because you can't check your work. 6/2(1+2)= now watch this next step... simple math. 2x(1+2)=6 See how I did that? checking my work. 2x(3)=6 6x=6 x=1 If the answer is 9, check your work and show me. lol at your fail. |
