You do multiplication and division left to right:
6 divided by the quantity 2n
6 ÷ 2n , where n = 2+1
6 ÷ 2n = 3/n; n = 2+1
3/n = 3/(2+1) = 1

OR:

6 ÷ 2(2+1) = 6 ÷ (2(2)+2(1)) = 6 ÷(4+2) = 1

6 ÷ 2(2+1) = 1
6 ÷ (2+1)2 = 1

(6 ÷ 2)(2+1) = [(6÷2)(2) + (6÷2)1)] = [6 + 3] = 9
6(2+1) ÷ 2 = 9

WHY ???
Derive the equations showing all steps. Do not introduce unnecessary ( ) or *
6 ÷ 6 = 1
6 ÷ (4+2) = 1; Factor out the GCF (Greatest common factor of 2)
6 ÷ 2(2+1) = 1

Now for 9:
3 * 3 = 9
3 * (2+1) = 9
6/2 * (2+1) = 9

OR:
6 + 3 = 9
(6/2)2 + (6/2)1 = 9
(6/2)(2+1) = 9

Fractions as coefficients that use '/' , such as (6/2)n, must use parentheses. Otherwise, it is 6/2n which is 6/(2n).
