All but a few of the Seismic Servers for the USA were taken offline by the USGS.

i know you can get some independent readings for a few locations here and there, but this makes me a bit nervous that they took mosT servers offline on this particular site

Truth be known, they know how good you all have become at diagnosing their plans, reading their charts and analyzing their statistics.
They've done the same with your solar and haarp charts. If these guys could they would hire you all because you know their data better than they do!!!!LOL

budget cuts limit maintenance/update of equpiment & some piece of it fails
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1291530

this is not from the equipment failing though
the equipment that records seismic events is located all over the country. They would not all go bad at the same time
if it was a site issue, then there would not be even one of the recordings being posted, and there is
 Quoting: NiNzrez

i have a suggestion for you...call the usgs people and ask for access to what you are monitoring....if they won't give it to you, post that fact......also post who you talked to please...

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1122832

you can also contact the webmaster on the link you posted where the servers are down .... an email pops up for you to send your comments to the webmaster....this would be the place you would request access and/or request the reason why the servers are unavailable for taxpayers to view.

Well apparently USGS doesn't even know.

The lady that I spoke to said maybe it was a server problem.
I asked to speak with someone else, so she transferred me...
no answer....went to voice mail.

So I called back and spoke with same lady again.
She told me they are all in a meeting...she put me through
to a different line....same thing.

1.)

That is of course because they expect a superearthquake of at least magnitude 11, that will divide The US into 8 pieces. Eh... and they don't want anyone to observe the quake and prove how strong it is.

2.) Maintenance repair(change of battery), change of location.

Chose your explanation.

The blasts were felt and shaking, in Illinois and Missouri
