She's putting her money where her mouth is, and she's showing those kids that even the First Lady isn't too good to exercise and keep fit.

As far as that goes, I support her.

May she do the Dougie more often with kids, and show them that even the rich and famous aren't ashamed to exercise and keep themselves in shape.

I'd be fine if it was her money, but most of what she's spent is OUR money! She sure does love to eat too! Everything she does costs many times more than it should due to security, private jets, etc. Blocking streets and interfering with commerce. Exercise is one thing - failing to continue our culture is another. Read the WSJ article on how "Chinese moms are the best moms", or something like that. Kids are first to study and excel, then exercise. There's a difference between noise and music too.

A nation is great because of shared values and shared goals. The current administration is the great divider - and has yet to lead with a goal that we all(or most of us) can get behind and believe in. They extol the virtues of petty bureaucrats rather than self reliant folks.

Failure to lead in the Gulf, Fukushima, and the economy. What about the glaring deficits at the nuke plants all over the USA?

But at least in this, she's doing the right thing.

I'm not going to vilify everything they do, only the things they do that are wrong and Unamerican.

I think that in this, she did the right thing. I don't think she made a fool of herself or the USA at all in this instance.

But this particular action does not bring me any sense of outrage at all. I think it's a good thing for the first lady to do.

I do not personally choose to use her looks as an outlet to express my generalized dislike of her and Barak. I think that would be dishonorable of ME. In which case, I would be in a glass house and throwing stones. Just my personal opinion.

Fortunately, I haven't seen any more of the commercial where she used this little "program" of hers to sell Lyrica, so I'm not as against it as I was.

Actually, Sandi, I respect your views and agree with you. This woman is so craving for visibility that it galls me, and having listened to her other prattling, and read her Princeton "thesis", I'm totally disgusted with most of her worldview. Especially the idea of ruling rather than leading.

Humility would go a long way in the White House.

Kids certainly need exercise, and fun. They also need to learn self discipline and self reliance. Above all, they need to learn the life skills that will be needed as adults. That's becoming fully capable renaissance men and women that don't need direction from anyone, but that can be recruited toward a common goal through logical and honest discourse.

No, it shows that she understands how important it is to relate to kids. This may be the biggest day in some of those kids lives, it gives them a story to tell. "I met the First Lady (is it capitalized?) and she partied with me." Think about when you were a kid, and who you met, and if it is a story that you tell.

Have you never done something that was out of character, but harmless, because some children wanted you to? If not, I feel sorry for the kids that come in contact with you, hopefully they have "loose" people in their live as well.

Where did the tea stuff come from? This is about the woman that's pushing HER values rather than excellence.

I agree those things need to be instilled in our children. But I think it's the job of parents to do that. If American PARENTS weren't failing their children so terribly, there'd be no room for her to step in and take over. Thus instilling unwanted conformity into them.

American parents need to be the foremen of our children's futures, but many are careless, indifferent, or outright resentful of their children.

If we want to throw stones in this case, it would be at parents, IMHO.
