That's not right at all. Magick is about creating a gateway from this world to the supernatural world. Rituals are ways of convincing spirits to enter this world. Can bad spirits pass through w/ the good? Of course. It depends on the soul of the performer. People forget to do so much during magick though - for example, music is a MUST, at least a drum beat to give the ritual a heartbeat.
