OP, why is what you say true. I know why I just want to know your take on it. When I was a kid growing up my baby-sitter was usually a television set because my mom and dad were divorced and couldn't always afford a baby-sitter or to spend more time with us themselves. My dad was a criminal investigator for the juvinile courts and my mom was a waitress working on her masters degree while in her 30s. So while my dad was seeing horrible things happen to children on a daily basis while making less than 35,000 a year and my mom worked 12 hour shifts throughout my entire childhood unit ill I was 18 I was raised by my friends and largely the media. MTV and after school programs. I had to have certain specific shoes, shirts , jackets, and pants and listen to certain specific music groups. 90% of the kids my age liked the same music, with no substance, wore the same clothes, watched weird and strange television shows. I could go on but I'd li,e to ask you a question OP. Why is it that everyone in my high school of around 2000 kids all had the exact same taste in just about everything? I'm sure its the same for school after school and city after city. That seems like too much of a coincidence to me. So did anyone in your group create influence to keep the masses occupied on non sense? If not then tell us about that group if you don't mind. If what you said in the above is something you and your family really cared about I would think you would have at least given us clues about the truth. Would that be a trie statement and if so could you give us some hints?

People are animals, and OP talked about people making bad choices despite the appearance of good ones. I think that human beings are wired all the same way, so acting as a congealed mass is something we do by nature, in personal growth we can "overcome" that herd tribal nature. It's not happening though.
If people in mass are acting on lower facilities and wants like want for sex or food or the like, the market or "things to consume" will reflect that.
There is no conspiracy to it. It is people internal desires manifesting in the world. If everyone elevated themselves with spiritual knowledge the world would be different.
Its like the lyrics "Everyone seems to have the sickness, and no one seems to want the cure".
It's up to each individual to evolve, if people did not WANT to be occupied by non-sense. Then non-sense could not effect them.
Even though there are great reasons to not kill ever even for food, the fact is it still happens, people are still !!"willing"!! to make war. Our base nature seems to still trump reason or sanity in mass.
No external force can evolve an unwilling soul, it comes from within, you're seeing the mass effect of people who are not very spiritually evolved. There is a point in growth where a person becomes an individual, everyone starts out in the herd. We grow, some of us.
I dunno if I'm close to his groups bag. That's my two cents. I'd love to hear his.
