You know who a powerful controller of magick was - Jesus. All those things you listed could happen if thousands of people participated in the same ritual. Here's the best way I can define magick. You have this realm and other realms. Magick is about convincing beings or energies of other realms to enter this realm. The entrance comes via gateway - usually the magick circle drawn out.
