What's this obsession w/ owning gold by preppers? Most ppl saying buy gold for economic collapse expect catastrophic meltdowns. If the bankers and speculators suddenly up and left it would be utopia for those left behind. In the movie, Atlas Shrugged, I remember seeing gas was $400/gal after the disappearance of elites. Let's say the money handlers left. That's no more oil speculation. Gas would fall drastically. The workers who produce the oil would still be there. That's also a few trillion USA owes that would suddenly be gone. No more debt to bankers.

Atlas Shrugged assumes the working class NEEDS the bankers to survive, but it's the other way around. W/o a working class for bankers to prey on, the bankers are powerless.
