What's this obsession w/ owning gold by preppers? Most ppl saying buy gold for economic collapse expect catastrophic meltdowns. In that event what good is gold if the system completely freezes? 20 years after a collapse THEN gold might be valuable, but in the immediate aftermath our most important possessions would be defense and food. You can't really shoot or eat gold. Is this just some marketing ploy? I'd love someone to explain the reasoning to me.
