and not because of your appropriate self doubt mucking up your workings - although that has significance in the grand scheme of things for you :)
it's just because the energy changed and no longer supports the workings of your system

there was shock to the system and it changed - just like that -cosmically speaking - and it's ripples are manifesting slowly into linear time and the changes they deliver will manifest along with them

you've been tinkering in the wrong dimension if you were looking to affect substantial change

top down is the way to go , not bottom up
