This hair loss has taken its toll on me. I'm fairly young and having my hairline recede and my hair thinning before 25 has truly affected my self esteem, and confidence with women.

However, through changes in my belief system I've learned to accept the circumstance I've fallen into. Regardless, I can't ignore the fact that this practice of mine has led me to this mpb. I'm giving up masterbation for those reasons. If my hair grows back I'll be happy. If it doesn't, I'll still be fine.

Now the question that's been bothering me as of late is, " is testosterone only converted to DHT from hormonal secretion as a result of sexual stimulation?"

Will DHT form as a result of me working out at the gym too long?

Again, the issue is a little more complicated than just elevated DHT levels, although DHT is a major inducer of hairloss.

As I have said before, DHT causes a sharp increases in body temperature, and this heat is constantly escaping from the scalp, so it leaves it susceptible to overheating. This is one of the major reasons why follicles are destroyed by the body's immune system because hair traps heat, so it has to be removed so the scalp can cool down.

Many men (myself included) report a huge increase in hairloss when they indulge in too much heavy exercise because A) steroid hormones increase through exercise and ) steroid hormones cause a sharp increase in body heat due to increased muscular stress. In other words, when the muscles are stressed, they burn up lots of energy and produce lots of metabolic heat. This metabolic heat moves to the scalp, and puts it at risk of overheating.

You will notice, that when you excessively masturbate or work out, your temples become incredibly hot. This is because metabolic heat from penis and muscles move to the scalp, which can lead to inflammation.

What I suggest you do is, when you work out and you feel your scalp becoming very hot, take some cool water and dab it on your scalp to help it cool down. We do sweat to help us achieve this, but sometimes too much heat overwhelms the sweat glands and the scalp cannot cool down efficiently. So a little cool water dabbing will help it cool down to 98F and will also reduce inflammation.
