Can You Use An Expired Driver's License As An ID ?
My license is expired and don't drive (travel) anymore. Why can't I use it for
ID purposes anyway ? I mean, the photo is valid and all the other info on it is still applicable. Is there any chance it will be confiscated by a Cop or a bank when presenting it ?

Nope, no longer a valid ID, they won't take it usually, just won't accept it.

NO.. You have to have a up to date ID.. If you dont drive all states have a ID card that you must get.

They most likely will not confiscate it, but it is no longer valid. There are a many things you will not be able to use this ID for, such as gaining employment. It must be valid.

Like everyone else said, no. A few years ago, I tried to get into a club with my DL, which I didn't know expired, and was refused, even though I was quite obviously of age.

I've been doing it for years. Even used it to change my Soc. Security info. Sort of depends on who you're dealing with. They wouldn't renew my license because my BC has my name with an "e" on the end... haven't used the "e" for almost 50 years & had a license spelled without it for years, but now I might be a terrorist. In my state they fingerprint everyone who gets a license...and they've had mine for over 40 years now...without the "e".

Arvest bank won't even cash a check if you have an account with them and your DL is expired.

As simple ID you should be able to because its still got your photo and information on it.
But not for driving obviously.
Although I suppose the psychopaths would probably reject it.

Re: Can You Use An Expired Driver's License As An ID ?
trust me, you wont get anywhere with it... makes life damn near impossible to live without an ID! I am at this point in life trying to remain out of the system without ID, now because of the Patriot ACT, I can't even see a doctor... but, the reason I dont, I was told at the DMV, that my name and information would have to be shared with like 18 agencies in DC as part of the process, this is why you can no longer just go to the dmv and have them print an ID card... They put you on all the lists when you get one... you get it in the mail 10 days later, what do you guys think, should I continue to try to remain out of the system or relent, I am a bit of an activist and dont want to be one of the first to be hauled away! Life is hard without an ID, but could be even harder in the future if everyone knows who I am and where I am...
