OP most of California is going into the chuck but Mount Shasta will be a safe area so if you want to stay in the Bear State you'd better relocate there ASAP.

How do you decide who to include? I have land in the coastal mountains and I would like to team up but I worry about individuals just out for themselves.

If SHTF it's a great geographical location, but the people that already live there would kill you before they let you in, in the SHTF scenario.

My sister and her family are on Monterey Bay, but so far they are not too convinced.

Maybe you should say, whoever survives the huge quake and 7,000 ft high tsunami survival group - that will narrow it down a lot.

Santa Maria. But I want to be close to the ocean for full doom. I don't want to survive. So AG/Nipomo Mesa.

If it is non ELE doom then we want to GTFO because Diablo Canyon is just up the beach. A bugout location would be good.

Considering a move to Sierra Nevada in the near future. High ground and/or hideouts seem to be logical.

HIGH GROUND
Acreage or staging area
PEOPLES WITH SKILLS
to share and learn from each other.
ALTERNATE COMMUNICATIONS
CB`s, 2 ways,extra batteries,solar chargers, supplies,supplies,supplies.
Extreme camping gear (think Burningman without the DJ`s and neon) only it will never end.
WATER FILTERS
and extra water filters.
Did I mention water filters?
SEEDS
There is much more to add but some things are obvious...

I would have to say the highest ground you could reach in 60-90 minutes.
So if you are anywhere in the valley you could head east for the sierra`s.
