Dandelion leaves are full of nutrients. You can eat them raw as in a salad, juice them, saute them...the flwers can be eaten and the roots can be dried and made into a tea. Purslane, another garden 'weed' is also very nutritious. Wood sorrel (looks kind of like clover) can be eaten raw and made into lemonade. There's info online and there are books at the library on identifying and using wild plants. |

Great, where i live, there's nothing but snow when TSHTF. Guess i'll eat snow. Maybe few stray cats. Love is not the game, life is. - When we wake up in this "reality" every morning, we are actually falling asleep, because only in our dreams we are truly awake. - We are not our body, nor our mind. We are not the voice in our body, nor our head. We are the the here and now, experiencing without any input from either of the mentioned above. - It's not about others forgiving you, but whether you can forgive yourself. - It doesn't take much energy to make the wrong decision. But to make the right one, you have to put every fiber of your being to it. - I know i have a lot to work on. But knowing that there's no hairy ass man in the clouds to judge me when I have little bit of fun on the expense of someone elses ignorance, makes life a whole lot easier. |

I could give you a list but it would be meaningless to most of you as the wild edible plants on Hawaii only grow here in the tropics. “If we are peaceful, if we are happy, we can smile and blossom like a flower, and everyone in our family, our entire society, will benefit from our peace.” Thich Nhat Hanh, Being Peace "But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish in the sea inform you." - Job 12:7,8 "When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro." - Hunter S. Walnut Tree Uses: Nuts: By boiling the nuts in water and skimming the oil from the surface has been used by native americans in treating tapeworms, as well as fungal infections and othr skin diseases. Bark: Shreading inner bark from this tree as a tea will work as a laxitive. One teaspoon to a cup of water seeped and then cooled and drink. Can also be used to treat malaria. Make sure you dry and grind the inner bark, so you can quickly make tea. Sipping a little throughout the day has been used to cure it. Because the tea Can also be used to treat dysteria because it will flush the bowels. Kinda seems opposite because dysteria makes you crap anyways, but this root will help you clense your bowels (ridden of the bacteria that causes dysteria cures it and this ensures you bowels are cleaned as a catalyst) Root: Boil in a tea to make a enemic |
