Excerpt:

The last time the military was deployed to fight flooding in Manitoba was in 1997, when 8,000 troops were sent to battle Winnipeg's "Flood of the Century."

I wonder if this flooding will surpass the "Flood of the century"?

I went to the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair in the late 90s, to see the horse show, I forget the name of that big indoor complex where they have that in Brandon, but it seemed like an area that could flood? Is that a low lying area?

city counsel briefing on now...

evacuees likely wont be able to return home for at least a couple weeks after the peak of the river.

water levels stable for the last 24 hours at this time, though there are (more)concerns due to heavy rains.

Re: MANITOBA FLOODING.......
Just another spring in the Keystone Province. Although it's setting records for the Brandon area, thank god it's not the water from 97 which threatend the city thrown in for epic water doom.

The control breach is set for Thursday??? now? Heard that on CJOB earlier today.

Manitoba volunteers and military help is always there during this kind of flood or disaster situation. Glad I live here.

I'm watching the Red River in my backyard north of the city but I'm high and dry. If my river property was flooding I'd say we would be using Noah's arch right now.

Keep safe and just get ready for the 38c summer.
