MK-Ultra is a very popular name for something that has been around for untold time, a very long long long period before "MK-Ultra" was ever thought up.

The reason the name is so popular is because of its transparincy. The documents were released, in part, and the test subjects were more willing then most.

However the real facts of the matter was it was the governments searching for understandings of a programing system that had been going on since the birth of mankind's history.
