Obama in El Paso w/ 'broken immigration system' WATCH LIVE - DISCUSS HERE
President Obama will stress two things today in El Paso.

One is that granting more immigrants citizenship would be good for the U.S. economy.

The other is that America's 2,000-mile Southwest border has never been safer, so the timing for immigration reform is excellent.

Other studies have said that the poorest immigrants cost more than they supply to the economy.

LOL! This is what the locals are saying....
Boo Boo Boo

BOHICA! Amnesty again. Obama comes here because he can get good press with all the freeloaders cheering him on about opening the floodgates. Hey- let's pay all the child molesters a bonus: they are just illegal purveyors of flesh. It's not like they really are breaking laws. Or let's just not have any laws at all except those that keep the socialists in power.
...
Anyone can see exactly what this is, only a fool will buy into it...Campaign 2012. He promised to make Immigration Reform one of his top priorities...and how did that work out for you? He needs your vote its that simple. If this criminal is re-elected he will have duped you twice. Just as with Obamacare a brokered and backdoor piece of illegal leftislature he is looking to again purchase your vote. Problem is he used you just like cheap whores and then when you woke in the morning, there was no payment.
...
Ha! the only thing granting more "illegal" immigrants citizenship would do is give more of a voting constituency to the Democrats.

Until they obey our laws and follow our immigration policy they should get nothing, zero, nada.

Ideas like this are why Obama will be a one-term president.
...
He is going to make promises today, which because the way the congress is made up now will never be enacted until after 2012 is he is still in office. We still have to solve the economy and jobs problem before immigration reform.
...
immigration system isnt broken, whats broken is obummers policies. he wants to give them the right to vote. he needs those 20 million votes. thats what this is about.

How will you know that Odumba$$ is lying today? His lips are moving! The teleprompter is working, and he is reading just what the dumo-craps want to hear. Stay in the USA and get all the freebies available and make sure you vote for him. That is all this is, it's nothing more than another campaigning trip. Maybe he can find another Birth cert here in El Pisso, why not enough other phoney id's are available for illegals.

the President chose Chamizal because of what of its proximity to the border and what the park symbolizes.

"Chamizal is a place right on the front lines of the two nations and we worked out a friendly agreement, a peaceful agreement, over a border dispute without a war in this particular case," Blevins said.

The Rio Grande was established as the dividing line between Mexico and the U.S.
But, nature's toll kept moving the river and changing the border.
Which eventually turned Chamizal into an island of Mexican land that butted into the U.S.

"That festered for over 100 years. When Lyndon Johnson became President he and the President of Mexico at that time, Gustavo Diaz Ordaz, decided to work out an agreement and they signed it in the middle of the bridge here on the Rio Grande River," Blevins said.

In federal trials over whether U.S. cities had the right to create certain immigration laws, various mayors said illegal immigrants were a drain on schools, hospitals and police services.

To be sure, occasional border violence attracts the nation's attention. But, the administration said, high-profile crimes also occur in U.S. cities, yet no one condemns them as unsafe.

...immigration reform "remains a priority" for the administration, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said Monday. There has been bipartisan support for reform in the past, Carney noted, and "we think we can build support for it again in the future."

The issue requires "focus," "education," and "persistence," Carney said. "The sooner it gets done, the better for the country."
