Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1359758As I recall it is some sort of Executive Order going back to Eisenhower's early years. (as the cold war with nuclear weapons was growing in destructive possibilities - the USSR getting an H bomb in the early 50's) Before the Cold War the US Government always was of the opinion it could take what it needed in a national emergency anyway ... which it did in the Civil War and WW2. Nothing new here. STFU. exec orders to not apply to the people only the employees of the prez. Not quite. Executive orders are laws pronounced by the President. Congress can override them if they violently disagree. And yes, it looks like Kennedy signed the first set of them in 1962: [link to www.sweetliberty.org] For a chilling read, google FEMA executive order. BS. exec orders do not apply to the people but only the employees of the prez. you have not proven otherwise. congress writes the laws. read the constitution. |

But try tearing a 16 year old today from their Iphone to get them to do some farm labor! HA! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1371265You laugh but we gotta get rid of the illegals who are doing that farm labor. I agree with that. But I don't think most kids today would take you up. I would, but I'm older and maybe a little wiser. Oh, and I'm broke. But I don't think a lot of todays kids would, even if they were hungry. I think if things got bad, most of them would turn to banditry before they tried making or doing something for food. |

Antares User ID: 1064752 Canada 05/11/2011 01:23 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | We continue to get forms because we have a farm deduction on our IRS. Asking us to give them all our 'crop' and livestock and land info. Quoting: WTHell 1378976Thing is, we raise horses. We're in Texas And I have always wondered... the Bureau of Land Management has over 30,000 horses in pens... wild horse which have been rounded up and are costing the gvt millions to feed. The WWII bomber jackets which are still around today and are in great shape were made from horse hide, not cowhide. A little known secret is that at the last time of an extremely high horse population in the USA, horses were consumed by the American public. It took until the early '50's for machinery to equal the number of horse farm teams, at which time horses were no longer necessary and the usa had a huge surplus of horses. Yep, we ate 'em, folks. The gvt. feed horses to our troops. Horse meat is much healthier than beef; it's like emu. So if our gvt defaults on its debt, you think they're going to keep pumping in millions to keep horses in pens? Why not just eat venison ffs? |
Anonymous coward User ID: 1327729 United States 05/11/2011 01:26 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yikes! It's worse than I thought - 79 million to feed horses this year alone! Now over 40, 000 horses in pens. Quoting: WTHell 1378976[link to www.oregonlive.com] If the Gov't were smart, they'd begin training those horses to pull wagons so that when gas gets to $10 a gallon we could "seamlessly" segue back to horse-power. They could then sell the trained horses and recuperate their money. Naah, too logical. Before (and during) WW1 the Gov't BOUGHT saddle-broke horses and mules for the troops. The farmers and ranchers made money by selling hay and grain to the Gov't. By WW2 it was all about gasoline-powered vehicles. |

Nothing new here. True. they can do it during marshall law too. But NOW things are getting so bad (or they are SAYING things are so bad) that it looks like they actually WILL be taking the food. Besides, who said there will be any satellite imagery available, let alone communications capabilities to relay the information to local command? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1370969HELLO???? Get a few hundred guys, 10,000 signatures, town hall meeting, invite the Sheriff and the Mayor. If they Mayor or Sheriff refuse, for their resignation. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 997861"We the people of [said district] hereby declare all representatives to step down until further notice. They are not to return to their offices unless the people of {said district] request them to". If they refuse to resign, sue and arrest them for supporting a tyrannical government, fraud, failure to represent in accordance of the law, failure to uphold the laws of the land, and treason. In some cases add racketeering, inside trading, and even attempted murder. Regardless, lock them out of your local office. Senators, assemblymen, judges, main stream meadia. If they were gone, the rest would flee. Whats happening to the American people isn't some 'bill' aimed at taxing them more. They are bills and illegal laws aimed at killing off the Americans. behind closed doors... "Fuck it! If we can't get their guns away from them we will get them away from their guns!".... GET IT???? Forced resignations. You sound like you could start this in your town. You do that, have a good outcome and then you can run for office of one of these jobs. I'd bet you'd win by a landslide. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1371265You laugh but we gotta get rid of the illegals who are doing that farm labor. I agree with that. But I don't think most kids today would take you up. I think if things got bad, most of them would turn to banditry before they tried making or doing something for food. Unfortunately, I must agree. Up to and including WW2 kids and teen-agers were expected to "help out" on the farm, in the shop, the store, and of course at home. That's why schools let the kids out for "summer vacation", so they could help out on the farm with the work and the harvest. It was not uncommon for people to be married at 15 or 16, when they were considered adults. The group known as "Teen-agers" weren't invented until the '50's, when Madison Avenue realized that they were a revenue stream which could be profitably tapped. After WW2, our country was prosperous enough that we could afford to hire others to do the manual labor and jobs which were deemed "too hard". Enter the illegals. Now we are 3 or 4 generations away from the days of kids and teen-agers actually HAVING to work. I realize that there ARE exceptions, but the fact that they are considered "exceptions" and not "the norm" says it all. And considering that the teachers, their unions, and other "public servants" are brainwashing the kids in school today into believing that "the end justifies the means" indicates that they are NOT taught ethics and morality, but rather that any act no matter how heinous is all right so long as YOU obtain YOUR goal. So, if a group of "gang-bangers" decides that their "goal" is food and shelter, who is going to stop them? Would YOU be able to fire at a bunch of kids? |

The main reason for this was because there is less weeding, watering and you can plant more food with less acreage. Quoting: ^Watcher^The secondary reason for this is satellite imagery. When they want to know who has gardens, which do you think would be more obvious from space, those who plant in traditional rows or those with a bunch of random squares in their back yard? ;) ive got mine in containers in case I have to GO, also with the SFG you could drape a camo tarp over it dont dovolit člen určitý bastard nést tebe dole |
