Haven't seen the news story yet. Must be talking about YU55. Interesting they'd mention it at all - 6 months is way too early to tell the public about something like an asteroid hitting us, but they did say it wasn't going to right? That must mean it probably will - lots of other things coming close this fall and afterwards I suppose one could easily change the current path of the other and give us a direct hit. Time will tell.

In the film "Deep Impact," didn't the government and the media give the world a six month time period? People were allowed this much time to wrap up their lives, deal with business and family, etc. I think I remember a six month time period from warning to impact in that film.

Lol, nice one. A rock with a diameter of 100 or so meters will have no ELE potential. For that you need rocks that are kilometers in diameter.

Completely untrue. Size is only one factor. Speed is also a factor, as is the location of the impact.

We have ways of calculating these thing but they will never release this info... especially if there is a REAL danger.
