Yet when I read IT a couple years back this scene shocked me. Me too! If that scene wouldve been earlier in the book, I wouldve stopped reading it. But it was near the end....I too was shocked. i feel like writing him a letter telling him hes a perv. Same here. I was a kid when I read that. Little Georgie getting his arm torn off I could handle, but that scene I was like "gross". As an adult when I look back now I'm like "wtf?!" I mean, what was the justification for the scene anyway? As I recall it was the girls idea... What was the motivation? Didn't they gain some kind of power or insight by "bonding" so powerfully? Remember they also got high together, but it was a 'coming of age' story.
