Somebody is going to feel awfully silly on the 22nd. Thoughts?

AT THIS TIME IN HISTORY THERE IS NO VALID, BIBLICAL EVIDENCE OR AUTHORITY WHICH INDICATES THAT WE CANNOT KNOW THE PRECISE DAY OF JUDGMENT. THE GREAT AMOUNT OF BIBLICAL SIGNS AND PROOFS ABSOLUTELY GUARANTEE THAT JUDGMENT DAY WILL BEGIN ON MAY 21st THIS YEAR.

Jesus said no man shall know the day or the hour, which is in the bible. That's what OP started this thread about.

So if you've somehow proved that part of the bible wrong, paste your proof here:

----------
PUT PROOF HERE

And you may as well put your biblical signs and proofs that absolutely guarantee that judgement day will be May 21, 2011 in this post was well. Why not? People would probably be interested in seeing them.

I know, but there is a surprising amount that do. I don't understand why though because it says in the Bible that no man will know the day. It also said that there would be a bunch of false prophets.

Re: If the Bible says no man shall know the day, why are Religitards awaiting rapture on May 21st?
The Bible teaches that no one knows the day, however a careful reading shows that it can not happen as soon as May 21. Thus these folks are damaging the faith just as much as the Millerites or Jehovah's witnesses did with their false prophecies.

If you read 2 Thess. chapter 2 carefully you will see that the day of the Lord and rapture can not occur until the antichrist is revealed. Moreover the specific way he will be revealed is by the abomination of desolation, claiming to be god in the Jewish temple.

" 1 Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers and sisters, 2 not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us—whether by a prophecy or by word of mouth or by letter—asserting that the day of the Lord has already come. 3 Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness[a] is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. 4 He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God."

Unfortunately we don't have the Jewish temple nor do we have a viable antichrist candidate, or a world wide religion and evil empire to go along with it. Sorry but there is still some considerable amount of suffering for christians to endure prior to that day. Hope that doesn't burst anyone's bubble.

That says God's temple, not the Jewish temple. Jesus announced the new temple before the old one was destroyed.

“All right,” Jesus replied. “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” “What!” they exclaimed. “It has taken forty-six years to build this Temple, and you can rebuild it in three days?” But when Jesus said “this temple,” he meant his own body.

The BIBLE says "NO MAN KNOWETH THE DAY OR THE HOUR"
Is that not clear?
What does "At this time in History" have to do with it?

JESUS said that it would be like a woman in the travails of child birth. In other words, THE CLOSER WE GET THE CLOSE WE KNOW WE ARE... but we never know when it will happen till it happens.

The Bible says IN THE BEGINNING WAS THE WORD, AND THE WORD WAS WITH GOD AND HE WORD WAS GOD. JESUS is the Word. Why do you devalue Jesus?

The craker jack who came up with this is an idiot.
And anyone who follows what he says in lieu of what the Bible says is a cult follower.... or cult follower wannabe.

You need to dig a little deeper my friend. The apocalyptic literature is quite clear on this matter. Daniel prophesied the first abomination of desolation and it was fulfilled in Antiochus Epiphanes who sacrificed a pig and desecrated the Jewish temple.

Daniel clearly indicates that the antichrist is a double fulfillment of this prophecy. The even is mentioned in Daniel 9:26-27 and Jesus also refers directly to this event in Matthew 24:15.

The Jewish temple was still intact during Paul's ministry and there is no reason to infer he was spiritualizing the meaning of temple, as much as you would like to believe that. Since this event is spoken of in many places in the old and new testaments and is always referring to a desecration of the Jewish temple, it's ridiculous to assume otherwise.

In fact a solid rule for Biblical hermeneutics is to always assume the most obvious interpretation until the Bible itself introduces an alternate parable or analogy, such as lampstands in Revelations representing churches.

Why not try predicting? Look from business perspective, suppose something happens on may 21, a big earthquake somewhere... then millions will believe and buy books.. and bring money.. you know all this stuff pretty well.

You may be yelling now, but you won't even be whispering here at GLP, on May 22nd. And not because you've been "raptured", but because you will be far too embarrassed to admit that you listened to a senile deceiver like Harold Camping.

But, in the end, Satan will (of course) get a lot of bang for his buck. Well-intentioned "believers" will be totally disillusioned when NO ONE is raptured, and NO cataclysmic event takes place. So they will give up what they thought was "Christianity". And the vitriolic atheists (and all NON-Christians) will be even MORE unlikely to pursue the Truth, and 10X more likely to ridicule, and berate Christians.

Harold Camping is an agent of the enemy. He needs to read 2nd Timothy 3:13, and 2nd Corinthians 11:14. On May 22nd, he will be faced with the fact that he has been doing the work of the enemy, and has actually DAMAGED the true gospel message. Thankfully, only the truly biblically illiterte, and the highly gullible, have been taken in by this deception.

Very sad for the mentally challenged, and for the too-young-to-know-better, who will now view God like they do Santa Clause, after they found out he didn't exist.
