Due to extremely high eccentricity, it's difficult to calculate the orbital period of Comet Elenin. The latest estimation of the orbital period is around 11,690 yr.

What’s so special about this 11690-yr period?

1. Look what happened in 9500 BC?

Firstly, 9564 BC (11575 years ago) was supposed to be the year Atlantic was destroyed.
