Hundreds of children being accused of witchcraft 'as belief in demonic possession spreads across the UK'
[link to www.dailymail.co.uk]

Hundreds of witchcraft abuse cases are going unreported across the country each year, it has been revealed.

Officials believe child protection officers are only tipped off in the most extreme cases when a child's life has been put in danger.

Just 38 cases have been reported in the last five years - and it is feared that they represent just the tip of the iceberg.

Hundreds of children may be left to starve, beaten and having chili rubbed into their eyes.

Youngsters born with physical and mental difficulties are most at risk from abuse.

Relatives often believe that the children are 'possessed' and the torture is carried out as a form of exorcism.

Extreme evangelical Christian churches - most prevalent in the Democratic Republic of Congo - have grown significantly in recent years and their influence is thought to have spread to groups in the UK.

This is also happening in Africa, although there it is propagated by the catholic church. A child is accused of being possessed, the priest demands the life savings from the parent, shakes his dick over the child to rid them of the demon. Next.

Terrible what is happening to those children if this is indeed true [ article suggests speculation ].

Also as this religion originates from the Congo, it would be more in tune with their belief in Voodooism as opposed to Witchcraft.
The Wiccans of the uk would not be very happy about this report.

The word "Christian" is the main blame then...not
its just that people are reporting the "general" term not the specific - whether if it is a cult/lie or not...

after a decade of worshiping harry potter, what do you expect? and calling these people 'christians' is to lump true believers in with these pedophiles and occultists.

do not call them christian. this is not a 'faith' Jesus Christ would endorse.

Here is a definition of a Christian: lives by the teachings of Jesus. Ok then, if your a christian then in no way would you perform such hideous acts, if someone is possesed and if your a true christian you would fast and gather other true Christians and pray over that person in Jesus name and that demon would be exorcised.

So don't ever call these type of people Christians.

Re: Hundreds of children being accused of witchcraft 'as belief in demonic possession spreads across the UK'
Anyone familiare with the Christian practices against witchcraft in the middle ages?

While Christianity clearly created the framework for the Witch Hunts, no single "Church" was to blame, and many secular governments hunted witches for essentially non-religious reasons.

Surprisingly, the Protestant reformers often agreed with Rome, that witches were a clear and present danger. All four of the major western Christian "churches" (Roman Catholic, Lutheran, Calvinist, Anglican) persecuted witches to some degree or another. (Eastern Christian, or Orthodox Churches carried out almost no witch hunting).

Whatever happened to modern education?
Arne't these people in the UK educated?

Seems like the government has to do more than just monitor the situation.
They should get the pastors of those churches and execute them.
It is so obvious that it is well past time to abolish ALL Religion. It makes people insane.

You hit the nail on the head. 50 years ago we never had beheadings, drive-by shootings, women stoned to death, burnt alive, gangs with knives terrorising the streets, gang rapes, and now witchcraft. Whatever happened to the civilized society that was the United States and the United Kingdom?
