This is a larger national disaster then 911- and I have no explaination as to why the flags aren´t at half-mast. They really should be.

Maybe because there is no way to go to war because of it... I don´t know.

DID we fly em half mast because of the last few hurricanes?
ALSO its pretty amusing that some claim a racial element in this thing, if a hurricane hits ANYWHERE on the gulf it will affect a lot of blacks.
Its the same every time one hits,bitchin about the response, I´ve heard it every time.
You dont go in half-assed, three or four days for something like this is resonable

Bundy has a point, the next cane of a 4 or 5 magnitude whether its a direct hit on Jacksonville, Florida all the way to Patterson New Jersey, would have a socioeconomic impact of the same caliber.

Folks in Baltimore and Dee Cee that are on welfare and have no cars cannot evac any better than those in New Orleans. TRANSPORT in the form of school buses, airlines and shelters inland must be part of some FEMA Scheme in the future.
