There was one there last year also. A little closer to a 3.0 I think. Believe it was January or February.

Don't recall right now If the DOD tests that affected GPS systems that were held off kings'bay and Jax had started or not. Seems like they had, and the quake was probably in February of 2011.

Also, close by, in florida there are potentially a lot of military activities and projects. Florida across that same latitude range had a series of events during and right after the other Daughin Island offshore quake. Same latitudes that are just north of the trench where the Deepwater well is and south of pensecola. Include the tip of the area sw of tallahassee then across the peninsula.

Apparently there is about a 50 year history of unidentified roarings, sounds, shakings through the air, but geologists I spoke with say they did not register on the seismographs they accessed.

I was really stressed and jittery,feeling like something was wrong this morning until about 1 or 2 pm. and couldn't figure out what was going on with me. Maybe it wasn't just all me.

Prognosis of Volcanic Activity: Moderate explosive activity of the volcano occurs. Ash explosions up to 32,800 ft (10 km) a.s.l. possible. Activity of the volcano could affect international and low-flying aircraft.

Volcanic Activity Summary: According by siesmic and video data, a series of ash explosions began to occur from 02:05 UTC on November 02. Gas-steam plume containing ash extending to the north-north-east of the volcano.

Moderate activity of the volcano continues. Video data and satellite imagery showed the extrusion of the lava at the volcano summit and effusion of the lava flow on the eastern volcanic flank. Incandescence of the volcano summit, hot avalanches on the southern volcanic flank and strong gas-steam activity accompany these processes. According to satellite data, a thermal anomaly was registering over the volcano all week.

Volcanic cloud height: 16.4 ft (5 m) a.s.l.

Other volcanic cloud information: Gas-steam plume containing ash extending to the north-north-east of the volcano.
