hiya guys

sorry i couldnt post, i only heard about the quake at lunchtime, as i was leaving for the city, and when i tried to check it out on the way to the city i discovered my mobile phone was almost completely flat

i was trying to check the main thread that was going about the quake, but my phone was so flat, i couldnt post, because it would have used the last tiny amount of power, and gone dead if i had tryed to post

i am only this evening gathering info about this quake

i have been predicting a large quake for a week or so, because of how the volcano graphs have been looking

we have a serious volcanic situation developing here in nz

this quake is directly related to the taupo supervolcano, which is waking up!!

we didnt even feel the quake, despite the fact that the epicenter was only 44kms from tauranga!

it has been pointed out to me on my thread that the reason we didnt feel it was because my house has a concrete floor

but i have a large wooden deck adjacent to my room, and i would have expected it to have been moving, and therefore to have woken my dog

but my dog didnt notice it either, because if she had, she would have alerted me, she was asleep in my bedroom at the time

what do you guys know about concrete floors/earthquakes??
