RECOMMENDED READING! My experience in living in a teen GULAG in the US and behavior modification
Some of you may have no clue about what I'm talking about and some don't even care. But nevertheless, it's going on and people are getting f'n rich off of teen drug abusers and mentally unstable children to even mildly defiant teens towards their parents!

The following is 100% true and I attest myself to most of what happens to the average teen sent to one of these gulags

In 2:00 A.M. Two burly strangers who work as private escorts would come into a teenager's room and escort them with police handcuffs out of the house in without getting to say goodbye to their parents or even sometimes put their clothes on!

Depending on the facility you're in, you would arrive with people with all ranges of socioeconomic status, people in gangs, heavy drug addicts, and mentally ill people diagnosed with bipolar or schizophrenia to name a couple all in the same building, half of the time without their meds. Why is this so, I do not really know to this day.

When I was sent to a camp called Carolina Springs Academy (its name has been changed ever since a staff leader beat up a student sensless and was sent to jail; I think the students rioted soon after) where I was one of the few who didn't get ringworm from the shower water which I also drank out of. A place where there were mind changing seminars that forced you to comply and endorse the program. A place where you were officially incarcerated until you completed a year's worth of ass kissing, brainwashing, and dehumanizing other students to earn your prestige.

And the school, don't get me started! A funky ass small trailer which crammed You had no teachers and all students were expected to be self taught. Few were encouraged to do well in school and excelled. Riots occured every so often and almost all newcomers made attempts at running away. I could go on and on about this, and if you have any questions about what I experienced in these camps, please ask. I will devote all of today until 12:00 AM answering questions, but I will take breaks so please wait a few minutes... or ten...

I feel some, but few children benefited from this in a positive way. Others had no choice other than go to jail, but sometimes even jail is preferrable. And others (like me) became scarred from the abuse.

I haven't heard of Roloff Homes but it sound a lot like Tranquility Bay Academy in Jamaica where anything goes:

I do believe it is defunct now,but when I was a teen in Indiana, there was a private foster care program called"Regional".
I believe every word of your post w/o even needing the links because I've been through similar.
Every now and again,it gets brought up in the press, but when teens are involved, the GP tends to think"Oh,punk kids, who the hell cares"?
Our youth are big business it seemsverysad

hffor surviving it!
It is not the teacher before you that manifests what you perceive as an awakening, but the awakening within you that manifests what you perceive as a teacher.

I feel ya, although some of my friends had it worse than me. some ended up in the ward for drug abuse, and my family is close to being broke because of it (+33K). But I look at the brite side, my family's doing better now, but not perfect of course. And God bless you and your family!angel3
