Migraine headache - anyone else? | |
Luvapottamus User ID: 1348760 United States 05/19/2011 01:10 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yup, Woke up last night with a headache and "tinnitis." Now my eyes hurt. I almost never get headaches. I'm thinking now would be a great time for some herbal medication, but I don't have any. What really blew was I was awakened while deeply into some pretty kickass recurrent dreams, now I fear that bubble has burst, maybe I won't ever be able to return to those. Kind of felt like a cheap horror flick, getting ripped away from that. Or some kind of ripoff of The Matrix. A real lame version. My head still hurty... Luvapottamus "A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. The only thing that really works for me is Zomig, no otc or even narcotic pain killer will work. I had a bad one last week. Honestly i think the pollen has been extreamly bad this year and its causing severe sinus headaches. They effect the eyes op!!! If you can get Zomig from your doc. DO!!! I swear by it, but if not try getting some zyrtec the kind with ephederine(its otc but you need id to get it). Take the zyrtec with motrin and if that helps you know its a sinus headache. |

It wasn't a sinus headache, this was much, much different (I have allergies so I am familiar with those kinds of headaches). This wasn't even like any of the migraines I have experienced in the past, it was different and I don't know how to properly explain it other than the Total Recall anology with the eyes. If I opened my eyes I didn't feel as much pressure as when they were closed but it defintely felt like swelling in the front area of my head and pushing against the back of my eyes. Nose was fine, no problems there at all. It was just very odd and worrisome. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 850602 Canada 05/20/2011 01:51 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I haven't had one in over 15 years, until last night...but it didn't feel like a typical headache, it felt like my eyes were being pushed out of their sockets. Kinda reminded me of the scene in Total Recall where Arnie and the woman got shot out onto the the surface of Mars and their eyes were protruding. I was laying in bed thinking that even if someone cut my head off the pain wouldn't abate, only a bullet in my head would help. Took 3 Aleve and finally the pain eased enough to go back to sleep but the headache was still there this morning...just not as violent. Quoting: Gnothi SeautonA friend said it was possibly the changes in the gravity and pressure of the planet. Could be, I can't come up with any other explanation for it. I also noticed yesterday that I was having a hard time remembering how to spell. It wasn't constant, maybe only 6 times, but words that should not have been a problem I was suddenly unable to spell without looking them up. That might have been a pre-cursor to the headache but not sure. Anywho, just curious if others have been having problems with violent headaches and feelings of extreme pressure in the forehead and behind the eyes? Yes same symptoms here. Lots, eye, head pressure, headaches. To echo another poster, tinnitus is acting up too. I suspect its from the high pressure ckearing going on in Ontario. That and morlocks. |

Just go to acupuncture Sometimes that works...great for some people. I just know what works for me :) Back when I used to get them on a monthly basis my doc put me on cafergat (sp?). The problem with it was that I was supposed to take it when I felt one coming on. With me it wasn't a gradual process at all. I would be fine then BAM! It felt like someone brained me with 2x4 so I couldn't take them the way they were meant to be taken. I try to stay away from pharmaceuticals as much as possible. I'm thinking about trying just plain asprin to see if that will work better. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1351204 United States 05/20/2011 01:53 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have rarely gotten them in my life. But had 5 in the last 2 months. I assumed I must suddenly have allergies, but no pollen counts for Tuesday... On a side note, Riboflavin (B2) defiency causes repeated migraines for a lot of people. Try it out. Imitrex can cause some pretty nasty side effects |
