Quoting: notlionI can tell you the sun is in the wrong place for this time of year. People don't take the time to look at the sky. To mark where the sun sets each day. If people grew their own food, they would be more aware of the earth and sky. I am in Wisconsin, I think that the sun is too high for this time of year. It should be closer. Hence the cold weather. We have A LOT of wind. Walking to work makes me irked that I acutally did my hair in the morning, as my hair is being furiously being rearranged by the wind. Unlike a lot of people here, I am not noticing the sun being hotter than normal. It actually feels like the sun would in fall, late Sept, early Oct. I haven't gotten sunburned, no new freckles, nothing. Now that is interesting because just today I was outside and I thought the sunlight looked and felt just like fall! Also the setting at 9 PM thing... that shouldn't really be happening for another month. |

Should be getting dark around 6 - 6.30. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1391088Agreed, have noticed it getting dark much earlier for this time of the year too. Also much brighter it seems. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1389469Then why is the North Star/Polaris still in the same place? did anyone answer this? fwiw, I also think somthing is definetly up in the solar sphere......very erratic weather pattern, moon looks odd for a while now, sun too hot etc...... I appreciate we are in the solar maxim, with 2017 (iirc) being the solar max? |
Electric Moon User ID: 1338634 United States 05/20/2011 03:17 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My house is oriented square to the compass directions. The north side of it is in shade for all but six weeks of the year--three before the summer solstice, and three after. This afternoon, as I was coming upstairs, I realized that there was a patch of sunlight on the wall of the stairwell--the sun was shining through the north-facing window. It wasn't a very wide patch, but it shouldn't be there at all this early in the year. Very strange. |

Astrotwat will be along shortly to tell you your house has moved, because the earth's axis definetly couldn't have etc etc someone made a valid point earlier. If we could all find the old sundials that are fixed into cement/concrete/fastened down etc, surely this would clarify things ?? also, someone also mentioned that old books are being destroyed/not for sale any more detailed with pictures of how it used to be wrt constallation & sun/moon positions etc. interesting to see if there is a divergence between GPS & analogue compasses?? It has already been mentioned |

TheSeeker User ID: 1386116 United States 05/20/2011 06:32 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | ... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1391181Have you ever spent the summer in Alaska? They call it "The Land of the Midnight Sun" for a reason. Just think about that for a moment, or longer if that's what it takes. If the sun shines from the east in the morning, from the south at noon, and from the west in the evening, would you care to guess where it shines from at midnight? It's not shining at midnight. Oh yeah you mean in Alaska. But I'm not in Alaska. So that doesn't apply to me. Carry on. Last time I checked, Alaska was north of the tropic of cancer. Last time I checked, Minnesota was too. So maybe it does apply to you. Maybe this surprises you too, but have you ever noticed how short the days are around Christmas? Well there are parts of the world where the sun never rises on Christmas. Where there are days of constant sunshine, there are also days of constant darkness, and the residents eagerly await the return of the sun. Guess where it rises on that day? That's right. It rises in the south! And in the opposite season, it rises in the north. In between, the sunrise shifts along the eastern horizon. Northward in the spring, southward in the fall. And that's what some of you are looking at, as if you've never seen it before. Have you ever even been to Alaska? I'm curious as to how people can claim to be experts on something they have never really experienced...seems like alot of people depend upon textbook info spoonfed to them by TPTB instead of their own senses... He who asks is a fool for five minutes. But he who does not ask remains a fool forever. |

So totally wierd. So, you guys celebrate Christmas for all intents and purposes in weather that would be our Easter? Yes. Your white Christmas's with snow are not seen by us. The snow fields here are just opening up for their season now. Christmas for us is mid summer, very hot, and our kids have their long school vacations through December and January. |

So true... at least in western Germany the sun is perfectly normal. Gosh, a tufur quote. Same stupid oblivitards day after day after day. At least we have a whole year for comfortable thinking. I don't live in Germany. I grow my own food and watch nature so it works with what I plant. This may just be a temporary wobble, but It felt definitely out of place. Quoting: Well some of us kOOks just happen to notice thing and don't have our heads up our bazookas or staring at a screen most of the day. Same tme every year the to far to the north tards come out, just as sure as the morels, which by the way came up right on time in mid April. Quoting: Ponder that...if you are able. Morels come out with temperature and moisture, not sunlight. If the temperature is in the right range they will spring up right after a good spring rain. They prefer a coolish temperature that is why they stop popping up when it gets warmer. April is a perfect month for the temperature range with wide swings in hot and cold. Ponder that if YOU are able. Quoting: Oh, yeah, a link. True Proof. One experiment can solve this "new rotation axis" fairly easily. Someone with the equipment to do so, take a time exposure image of the North Star. Quoting: strangeVoltOK, go for it. Let us know how it turns out. |
