Maybe God is showing up and realizing he shouldn't have taken such a long dump (I'm guessing that since it took seven days to build the world, which was like 4 billion years for us, a nice long grunt for him...) and shouldn't have taken his eyes off of us. His next thought would be to start over somewhere else. We will be left saying my god, my god, why hast thou forsaken us?

I believe Harold Camping is a tool to bring more dishonor to the Saints. Jesus said they hated him they will hate us.
He is allowing the devil to use this Camping guy to give many Christians a black eye to the world and try to make us look ridiculous. The large media attention on this guy will ensure many Christians embarrassment.

I am quite certain after extensive study that the rapture (greek: harpazo) in 1 Thess 4:16-17 is after the tribulation period in the 8th year, the day of the Lord and I believe that to be in Late 2018-Early 2019 approximately.
Do I think a judgment on the USA could start today? Yes,
but there is no pre-trib rapture. Most all pastors, at least in Southern California have this pre-trib doctrine and they taught me that. I never wanted to question it because it made me feel good, secure, and complacent. It was not until later that I studied it and found out:

1. That the pre-trib doctrine is not only wrong, but a doctrine straight from hell to put Christians to sleep.

2. How much pre-trib pushers do not understand about the deep things of the Word, because, when examining all of the verses, allegories, shadows, figures and types in the Word, so much of the Word says the same thing about the timing
of the end (a 16-year cycle starting at the intersection of the dawning 3rd day (millenium) from Jesus (2nd Adam) and the dawning of the 7th day from the 1st Adam.

This time has arrived. We have passed the 7 years of plenty and are soon to start the 7 years of famine. And we are raptured in the 8th year AFTER the tribulation period in the first 40-45 days of the Day of the Lord (Isa 34:8).
Many of the rebellious, fleshly, and complacent Christians will perish in the 8 or so years left. As the test on Mount Carmel showed, the real god will deal with the problem of the flesh, one way or another.

The moment someone pushed the pre-trib rapture doctrine, they have just told me how little they understand of the deep things of the Word of God.

What first tipped me off to Camping's error was when he quoted the Bible, full stop.

It's not that Camping's calculations were wrong, his entire premise and prerequisite were false: the Bible.

Who cares if the Bible say nobody will know the time? Of course nobody will, simply because it's all just fantasy bullshit. It's never going to happen, ever.

He said the whole thing was coming from God. How can he cancel it?

Did God send him a postponement memo? "Sorry, can't make it today, got a ton of things to do."

What it means is... that you should be ready. That you should repent, be a good person to those you can be good to, and stay away from those that make a mockery of God, once you see you cannot help them. Just like people like Harold Camping. What God means in those scriptures is that the angels in heaven won't even know the time, nor the hour, not even Jesus knows... Do not spend all of your time trying to figure out when he will come back, to not waste time wondering when he will right the wrongs on this earth, that judgement is for God, not man.... because only God knows the heart of each man. To spend your youth living, to spend your life well, for when he arrives, it will be a surprise, and don't get caught when you aren't ready. If you spend all your time waiting on him to return, you will miss the joys of your life, and in essense spend all of your time passing a form of judgement that is not yours to pass...

Maybe not in the way you think... again, we do not know, it's a matter of faith, which many don't understand or have any of...
