Phoenix Project
Phoenix Project

Now, unlike any other time in our recent history, we have an unprecedented opportunity to assess what we have allowed ourselves to become and to make the drastic changes necessary to once again become upstanding citizens of the world. It is my fervent hope that the acts of kindness put forth by countries such as Cuba, Indonesia, Iran and Afghanistan have both humbled and made us aware of the goodness of ‘the people’ everywhere. These are people who have suffered untold misery at the hands of our government and yet, in our darkest hours, have reached out a helping hand. We must not become complacent as the initial horrors recede into memory. Now is the time to clean house. Now is the time to define who Americans really are. Now is the time to put in place leaders who are both capable and willing to work in the Spirit of the real American Ideal. If those who failed this country so miserably refuse to do the last honorable thing left for them to do – resign - then it is our responsibility as real Americans to impeach them. Let something good and decent rise out of the flood waters. Let us begin once again to establish a legacy of which we can all be proud. This will not be an easy venture – but surviving the devastation of this last week was anything but for unknown thousands of our fellow citizens. We need to empower ourselves and we need to do it Now. There are capable people in our present government, of both parties, able to take the reins. It is up to us to ask them to do so. Photo ops and TV appearances do nothing in the real world to solve real problems. Let us hope that the spirit of America, like the fabled Phoenix, can rise out of this disaster and foster compassion, understanding and peace in this world of ours. And let us put in place leaders who can and will lead us in this endeavor.

Agreed, Claycat
But as they say, secure your mask before helping others. You can´t help others unless you can help yourself.
