I own a fairly decent linux firewall. I used to get quite a few firewall hits from halliburton.
Also seen a couple from Sandia National Labs.
Used to get hits EVERYDAY from the DOD Space and Naval Warfare Systems (look for IP´s that start with 204,5). Since the hurricane hit, things are real quiet except for china. We´re talking a drop from several thousand hits/day to a couple hundred hits today.

One giant ´super fund´ site. They´ll be sending the (former) home owners bills for clean up.

After dozing it all flat they will suddenly discover that the polution is gone and it all now prime real estate.

Heck they may even discover an oil field under the place.

The Navy has hired Houston-based Halliburton Co. to restore electric power, repair roofs and remove debris at three naval facilities in Mississippi damaged by Hurricane Katrina.

New Orleans has the largest port in the US and 5th largest in the world. Without people to run it (like right now) there is no importing or exporting of goods. A disaster.

I started a thread on this, I´m really disappointed so few found it relevant. Without the Ports of South Louisiana and New Orleans, 52 million tons a year of exports sit in the granaries and rot. No processed food comes in. Going to be pretty nasty for ALL Americans nott just the Katrina affected states and not just fuel.

How do you equate the rebuilding of three naval stations in Mississippi with New Orleans?

it´s all about the oil. what better place to refine the oil stolen from iraq than to send it to one of the nations largest oil refinery areas?
